Cuba and Vietnam Sign Trade and Cooperation Agreements

An official visit by Vietnam to Cuba resulted in the signing of a number of trade and cooperation agreements, signaling the continuing strength of bilateral relations between the two nations.  Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, met with President Raul Castro as well as Second Secretary of the PCC Central Committee, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Politburo member and President of the Cuban National Assembly, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, and Politburo member and First Vice President of the Cuban Council of State and the Council of Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.  Also present were executives from 23 Vietnamese companies.
