Today Nicaragua receives the first of three shipments of Cuba’s covid vaccines. Minister of Health, Martha Reyes, greeted the shipment of 1,200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines manufactured and developed by the Island’s biotechnological institutions.
The shipment is the first of three deliveries promised before the end of the year.
Nicaragua and Cuba have agreed to shipments of 7,000,000 doses, said Cuban Ambassador Juan Carlos Hernández.
Minister Reyes told Prensa Latina it is a dream come true to vaccinate the younger population between ages between two and 17 years with the recently arrived doses.
The Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, said that as of October 25, they will deliver the new vaccines to 1,500 vaccination centers throughout the country.
